Holland’s Boat Shop

Thank you to Glenn and Gavin at Holland’s Boat Shop for being a boat build partner and sponsor of Buckle Up. Their boatbuilding expertise and support are helping bring this exciting project to life.

World-famous boatbuilder Glenn Holland of Belfast, Maine, owns Red Baron, one of the world’s fastest racing lobster boats. Red Baron is currently being worked on in preparation for the 2027 lobster boat racing circuit.

Glenn Holland’s grandson, Gavin Holland, has begun building Buckle Up, our new 32-foot lobster racing boat set to debut on the 2027 lobster boat racing circuit. Gavin says the build will bring plenty of surprises, including reinforced structural strength and a cored hull designed to keep the boat rigid and light as it pursues speeds over 100 mph. He’ll film the entire build process, starting with the boat being laid up in the mold. Check back for videos and updates as Buckle Up takes shape!
